Hello

I am Debra, or Aspie Woman. I am checking this site out, not sure how often I will come on here spend too much time online as it is.

I am into teddy bears, I guess I have never grown up, but what the hell, I'm happy. I am wrting a book about my travels with my teddy bear and the barriers of travel to Asperger's syndrome, which I was diagnosed with 2 1/2 years ago at 38.

I am currently waiting for my dinner to cook, quorn fillets and cauliflower; I couldn't be bothered to do any potatoes or rice to go with it!

i'm Cayce. i have an autistic son who is 16 and about to leave child services and enter the even more sparsley financed adult services realm...His name is Leo and in many ways it would be hard on initial contact to spot a definitive difference between him and someone without Autism but he soon gives the game away in his purely unabashed childlike behaviour, trust and affection that he feels but cant quite let you see...at least not openly anyway...Hes a real diamond and from a carers point of view a real hard work kinda job. Leo doesnt know how to keep himself safe above his intense emotions. so yes he knows a digger will squash him if he runs out in front of him but the excitement he feels at seeing one never stops to think about this before...ooops too late flattened Leo!...
can anyone else recognize this kind of stuff in their lives or the lives of other folk experiencing Autism or Aspergers etc. im hoping to find flat out truthful and respectful conversation here rather than polite waffle so please bring it on!
