Earth Hour (Time to help our hurt mother!)

On 31 March 2007, 2.2 million people and 2100 Sydney businesses turned off their lights for one hour - Earth Hour. This massive collective effort reduced Sydney's energy consumption by 10.2% for one hour, which is the equivalent effect of taking 48,000 cars off the road for a year. With Sydney icons like the Harbour Bridge and Opera House turning their lights off, and unique events such as weddings by candlelight, the world took notice. Inspired by the collective effort of millions of Sydneysiders, many major global cities are joining Earth Hour in 2008, turning a symbolic event into a global movement.

Created to take a stand against the greatest threat our planet has ever faced, Earth Hour uses the simple action of turning off the lights for one hour to deliver a powerful message about the need for action on global warming. This simple act has captured the hearts and minds of people all over the world.

As a result, at 8pm (your local time) on March 29th, millions of people in some of the world’s major capital cities, including Copenhagen, Toronto, Chicago, Melbourne, Brisbane and Tel Aviv will unite and switch off for Earth Hour.

Lights are off, now what?

Wave 11:11 encourages you to spread this message:

Lights down, Power up

Making it our intention to heal this planet with unconditional love and unity.

Prayer & Meditation for a balanced and harmonious world.

We are all in this together. No more wars and disharmony.

It is time we started - Taking Our Power Back.

just a thuoght here it just me but when we all lite off our poi or breath fire the fuels we use not very green freindly. So in a since if we all stop spinning or stop doing some kind of fire stuff wouldn't we be helping the earth??? Then gain I'm not going to stop I'm still going to leave the ac on full blast and have all my windows open.If it too cold i'm cutting down a tree have a big fire why. Just to make a tree hugger cry!!!

Tree hugger here. . . Also, wanted to point out the fact that less than 10% of the world uses nuclear energy. The other 80% use water generated energy. And the other 10% use traditional steam energy. That of course is supported by burning of materials be it full trees or the waste products of those plants. The good thing about that method is the tree has a better chance of being replaced by another with a tree company. I am not sure but almost that we DO NOT go out and cut down trees for energy without replacing them. The gas, if you want to include that, is over priced for us now but wont be forever. We seem to go through that phase alot.

The things 'WE' to burn fire with is NOT considered a fuel source persay. It is considered an excellerant. Even though we use those products for producing fire to dance and play with, we are not using that for energy. I think you totally took this the wrong way Side, but completly understand where you are coming from. Keep lightin up those poi. Natural energy is not what is killing the world, nuclear energy is.

1 hour of no power wont kill us, and it sure as hell will help our Earth. 1 persons does it, no big deal, thousands, and were on to something.

1 day a year, for one hour.

Saturday, Mar 29, 8pm your time.
flip that main breaker, and do whatever.
