WHY?

Last night i was doing some fire breathing for a good friend of mine. After i was done cleaning myself up. She asked me why do i do it. i stop and thuoght about for a min. good question thinking to myself. This what i told her. Why i fire breath is becuz When i look at the flame i'm blowing, I feel like I have found my place in this world. For how ever quick the flame may last I am one with the world.

So I'll ask you Why? Cheezzy yes but i think it a good topic.

I enjoy the feel of having fire near to me, whether its a campfire, bombfire, candle (in fact theres a few candles around me right now lol). But when i spin poi it's almost like i get lost in the dance (I cant dance normally, but i do feel like im dancing with fire when i spin poi or staff) and the experience. I dont have that reverie every time i spin poi or staff, but sometimes i just get lost in it and i feel carefree and untroubled.
When i breathe fire its different altogether. Again, sound cheezy, but i feel powerful for having something so full of pure energy bursting forth from your lungs, thats more exhilerating than elating.
But yeah, I totally get what you guys are saying. =D

Great question!
I wasn't actually sure I would like spinning with fire... until the first 3 seconds of my first burn! It's kinda hard to explain what I feel, but there is just something about the sound and feel of the fire flying around me, that seems to make everything else disappear. All stress, worries, clumsiness and shyness are simply gone for those few minutes, and there is a wonderful calm that settles over me afterwards. Fire Poi has become my personal form of meditation I suppose.

This interview form Nick really got me thinking. There have been times when I've been spinning that my subconcious kind of takes over, and theories of how the universe was created flow through my mind. It's quite amazing, almost an out of body experience. Kind of like Kind Vapor said "when your at One, time does not exist". Another thoery of mine is that whether spinning, breathing or doing anyhting with fire, you are creating, or realeasing your energy, and this is an interpretration of your own personal inner enregy, chi, or what ever you woul like to call it.
