I've never bought a pair of poi from anywhere as i kind of bond with a pair as i imagine, design and finally make them...BUT i have seen many fine pairs of poi and ooodles of other gear that was of great quality form reputable places such as H.O.P. your timing is great btw as just today i've been writing tthe framework of a letter to many places like H.O.P re this community, seeking to co-operativley link our organisational voices in some way if they'd like to.

It'd be great for such organisations to have a space and voice here so others can see them here too!

for those making poi in the UK a great place for wick is at www.fyrefli.com (In Bristol)where 'Chris' is totally knowledgeable re: wick and its properties, uses, weaving etc. and well used to us fire folk too.
nice tip KV

I have gotten mine from flammaaeterna.com. Matthew the owner and operator has been very helpful in all of the orders I made through them. Also, it ships fast because it is in Arizona and not New Zealand, the prices seem to be a bit lower then some, and the products have been wonderful!

There are many great places to shop for poi, if your looking for led's then go to www.flowtoys.com, home of poi as mentioned earlier is a great place, for fire poi i like www.feuershow.de they use wicks without glassfiber, they use 100% aramid fibres which means they are more temperature/abrasion resistant. www.fire.trickconcepts.com has more unique styles of poi, if your a staff spinner and like to make your own staves trick concepts is a great place to buy grips for them. Some other sites for poi gear are www.thespinsterz.com and www.salza.se hope i could help

Ditto on the shopping advice...i find a well made safety concious home made piece of kit to be a sacred thing to design make and bond with, BUT i find in many of our growing global community of poi and other equipment making places it is now possible to find a fine selection of high quality fire and associated equipment.
I have a great deal of respect for the names mentioned in this area and soon aim to have some of the names and others too hosted here at Poi people.
I found online 'bitching' hard to deal with at certain sites but that at the same time the companies themselves were wise and generous and not at all the way their on line communities may have made them seem...
As such if any member wishes to invite any other online community to be a part of poi people we would be over joyed...surely as a global non competitive voice driving the fire and its creative standards forwards it can only be a nourishing thing to unite our voices as time progresses...so do it Poi people invite these guys to build profiles here, lets open our friendly arms to others all over the world and show fire is friendly not just to be superior about...
Love as always...Cayce (She phoenix)
